Artist's Comments
A quick sketch done for the monthly art contest on IDW's forums.
The theme was to pick an existing character and give him the Matrix/Prime/Upgrade treatment. My character was Thundercracker (always my favorite seeker) with the following backstory. All hail........ THUNDERUS PRIME! When Megatron finally defeats Optimus Prime and barely lives to celebrate, Starscream takes the opportunity to finish off the Decepticon leader and assume command for himself. After taking the Matrix from Prime's corpse, he finds himself unable to use it but wears it around his neck as a trophy. With Megatron no longer around to put fear in Thundercracker's heart, Thundercracker eventually finds his inner strength and stands between Starscream and some innocents he is about to murder. Thundercracker is as surprised as anyone when upon grabbing the Matrix as he grapples with Starscream, he is transformed by it's energies into a stronger frame capable of transforming into an F117 Nighthawk. A new rivalry is established between the Autobot and Decepticon leadership as two former teammates become mortal enemies. Only the future will determine whether the Autobots will learn to accept the leader that their fabled Matrix has chosen for them. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
